Parents' Day

Today we had an unbelievable Parents Day. Both St Vincents together with the Maayan school, the Parents and families, and our dear children, all got together in front of the House to meet, eat, drink, and enjoy an afternoon of fun and entertainment.

"Sounding in Jerusalem" came to St Vincent

Some of our children [also staff and volunteers] attended the concert and enjoyed it so much.

St Vincent openned its doors to the public!

'Sounding in Jerusalem", a peace orchestra, gave a performance in our grounds last night. Those who attended said it was beautiful. We hope they come again next year.

Bye to our Jakuzzi volunteers and Alex and thanks for everything

Vanessa our Spanish Speech therapist is leaving...

Vanessa volunteered for a year in our home, assisting us in one of the most difficult fields in the world of the handicapped - feeding. Her work was especially with the children who have difficulty in feeding , with whom she devoted hours of building individual programmes and also teaching them and their caregivers the best way to prepare them for feeding and the best way to feed. We are very grateful to Vanessa for her professional work and her kindness, understanding and patience that she showed to each and every child she worked with.

Well done to our St Vincent House Ein Kerem!!!!!!

Yes, we presented a poster, talk and powerpoint show at the 6th National Conference on the 22nd and 23rd June. The poster was about our Dog Therapy with Pam with an explanation in the conference brochure. The powerpoint and talk were under the heading " Is this Life really mine?" There we presented the history of 2 of our children and of course a nice explanation of St Vincent home as it is today.

Putting Migel's Course into practice

We now have a Migel hour once a week - see the pictures...

The first out of 3 practicals we used the ball therapy that Migel taught us. The children enjoyed it and we became more practical!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Migel for all the good tips.

Next - we have now a "Migel Hour" once a week, combining the ball therapy and rhythm.

A bit of history...

1633 France - 1848 Middle East - 1964 Ein Kerem

St. Vincent's heart was captured by the poor, when France was being revaged by epidemics and war. He began to serve them and was eventually asked to organize their care on the national level. He founded many international organizations, best known are the Priest of the Mission and the Daughters of Charity. He was the inspiration behind the founding of the St. Vincent DePaul Society.

Five Daugthers of Charity are full-time staff and resident. Their international organisation originated in France in 1633. They have worked in the Middle East 150 years and in Israel since 1886, so they have a long history of service to the disadvantaged.

We are sorry to hear about the passing away of Chiara's Mother. We are all thinking of you and comfort you in your sad loss.

We heard of the sad news that Thomas's Father passed away sudddenly.We are with you Thomas in our thoughts and prayers, even though we are far away, you are still very much in our hearts.May you and your family be comforted.

We deeply regret to announce the sad tragic passing away of the son of Robert, the head of the Physiotherapy/Para-medic department in St Vincents, Ein Kerem. We all express our condolensces to Robert and all his family. May the Lord comfort you all in these hard times.
